This 4-week course led by a professional medical herbalist covers the basics of herbalism and how to create your own herbal remedies. You will also learn how to start building your own home herbal apothecary to support your health and that of your loved ones.
Key topics covered in this course include:
- Finding, foraging and storing herbs
- How to make and use basic herbal preparations including infusions, decoctions, tinctures, infused oils, herbal vinegars, oxymels, glycerites, syrups, salves and balms
- How to craft your own home apothecary and personalized herbal health guide
- Seasonal remedies you can make at home
- Simple herbal first aid
Each week we will focus on some core herbs and you will have the opportunity to make at least one of the herbal preparations covered to take home with you for your home apothecary. During the final week, we will be putting it all together and making a simple balm or salve using some of the preparations you have made in the previous sessions.
This course is suitable for those completely new to using herbs as medicine as well as those with a basic knowledge wishing to learn more.
All materials and handouts are included in the ticket price.
